Tool helps track data center optimization

As agencies begin documenting their compliance with the Data Center Optimization Initiative, customers of Nlyte Software’s data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solution can use the company’s new module to simplify the mandated process for reporting and validating the data center optimization process.

In addition to reporting and dashboard capabilities, the DCOI module tracks and reports on all of the five optimization metrics for the initiative, including energy metering, power usage effectiveness, virtualization, server utilization, automated monitoring and facility utilization.

It can help agencies establish and track configuration schedules so facility managers can better understand what objectives and goals are being achieved. Micro-permission capabilities can grant individuals specific and detailed dashboard access to any part of the data center complex or across an entire global portfolio, the company said.

The Nlyte DCOI module will be available in the second quarter of 2016.
