Governments using the Accela cloud-based Civic Platform can now have their residents pay for common government services with CivicPay, the cloud solution provider’s tool to handle the entire payment process, including the front- and back-end software and processing.
Without any additional application program interfaces or configuration, CivicPay provides a single, consistent and safe payment experience -- in real time and from any device -- for all government-citizen transactions, the company said.
Residents can use CivicPay to view and make payments for utility bills, licenses, permits and inspections, plan reviews and code violations. It allows citizens to make multiple transactions and accepts all major credit cards, electronic fund transfers and electronic checks.
To ensure secure transactions, CivicPay is Payment Card Industry-compliant. It uses PCI-approved security solutions, industry-leading credit card data security and point-to-point encrypted card terminal devices, Accela said.
Accela’s Civic Platform offers workflow, web portals, mobile tools, dashboards, online payments and geographic information systems for government across a range of applications from finance to land, legislative and asset management.
