AWS gets approval to offer cloud services from FedRAMP

FedRAMP OKs FireEye, Cylance cyber solutions

FireEye Government Email Threat Prevention security offering has received Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification. The ETP service received an agency authority to operate from the Department of the Interior on April 26, and achieved FedRAMP authorization on July 5.

ETP is a cloud-based designed to help protect agencies against advanced persistent threats in Office 365, Google Mail or other email solutions by analyzing email attachments and URLs against a matrix of operating systems, applications and web browsers. If an attack is confirmed, ETP quarantines the malicious email for further analysis or deletion.

Government ETP is available as a new subscription or an upgrade for existing FireEye Email Security appliance customers.

Cylance Inc. announced it has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program moderate compliance for its CylancePROTECT, an artificial-intelligence-driven endpoint security solution.

CylancePROTECT can detect malware before it executes by relying on AI and machine learning to analyze and classify hundreds of thousands of characteristics per file to discern whether “an object is good or bad in real time.”

Cylance has implemented similar techniques for malware detection in air-gapped systems with Dell.
