Microsoft adds analytical services to Azure Government

Microsoft is expanding its portfolio of analytical  and monitoring tools available in Azure Government.

Azure Monitor, the newest addition, gives users insight into their cloud applications with a dashboard that tracks performance and utilization data as well as application programming interface performance.

“Azure Monitor provides you the ability to configure alert rules to get notified or to take automated actions on issues impacting your resources,” Tom Keane, the head of global infrastructure for  Microsoft Azure, wrote in an Aug. 24 blog post. “Azure Monitor enables analytics, troubleshooting, and a unified dashboarding experience within the portal, in addition to enabling a wide range of product integrations via APIs and data export options.”

Users can stream the Azure Monitor data to other locations in real time, create custom queries to send data to third-party apps, visualize the data through charts and graphs and establish trigger alerts.

Azure Monitor’s logging and alerting tools are designed to help users remain in compliance with the security and privacy controls for federal information outlined in the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Special Publication 800-53.
