LicenseTrax gives IT managers a tool that reports license usage according to various groups within an organization.

Agencies that need to get an accurate picture of their Office 365 license usage now have a new application that reports usage according to various groups within an organization.

Typically, organizations with multiple divisions running Office 365 must determine the number of licenses in use via manual calculations by subsidiary, division, department or workgroup, a time- and resource-consuming process.  LicenseTrax for Office 365 “eliminates this pain point” by giving organizations the ability to conduct organizational-level add-move-changes that affect internal cost center calculations, according to its developer, SADA Systems, a cloud computing and IT consulting company.

LicenseTrax for Office 365 is a software-as-a-service fix that would be useful for Office 365 customers who need to distribute costs across departments, such as educational institutions and government agencies, the company said.

Agency IT managers and admins can manage licenses by assigning or revoking specific Office 365 features. LicenseTrax for Office 365 is also integrated with Active Directory and all AD group features as well as with SharePoint Online for simplified access and minimal change management.

SADA Systems provides a plan to implement the tool customized for agencies. Once LicenseTrax is running, they will receive a monthly billing for the service.
