The Real-Time Crime Center Starter Kit from Motorola integrates systems so that municipal police departments can improve their effectiveness.

For municipalities considering ways to turn their data into intelligence for predictive policing,  Motorola is offering its  Real-Time Crime Center Starter Kit.  By sharing the right information at the right time, law enforcement and first-responder agencies can shorten response time, proactively deploy resources and increase situational awareness,  the company said.

The system gathers input from multiple data sources including video, sensors, alarms, computer-aided dispatch and records, and combines them with data analytics and mission-critical radio networks. This delivers law enforcement a single, unified operational view, according a Motorola statement.

The starter kit uses Motorola’s Real-Time Intelligence Console (RIC) as the backbone for a system that integrates multiple public safety systems and third-party applications with an agency’s existing system. With the starter kit customers can connect up to 100 existing cameras back into the RIC, integrating feeds from multiple video management systems on to one screen and selecting the most relevant video for incident management.

“For most police departments, the focus and field of expertise is crime-fighting and crime prevention, not implementing and managing technology,” said David Thomas, solutions vice president of Motorola Global Solutions and Services.

The starter kit, he added, “allows agencies to implement predictive policing tactics and leverage existing technology to provide relevant and timely intelligence to improve closure rates, help stop a crime in action and proactively identify potential incidents before they occur.”
