New World announced Aegis 11.2, a suite of emergency response software that will reflect greater integration with Esri’s GIS enterprise server technology.

New World Systems, which specializes in public safety software applications, released an upgrade of its Aegis suite that offers enhanced integration with geographic information systems from Esri Inc.

New Worlds’ Aegis 11.2 software suite will reflect greater integration with Esri’s latest advances in GIS, including its ArcGIS Server Advanced Enterprise and ArcGIS runtime platform, New World said in an announcement.

New World’s Aegis software is designed for public sector service response agencies, including law enforcement, fire and emergency management, computer-aided dispatch and corrections management. 

The release of the Aegis 11.2 software will improve GIS features and situational awareness in each of those communities, New World said, including  the ability to consume live external data sources such as traffic, cameras, sensors, alarms and video.

The new software will also enhance the ability of responder agencies to share data with neighboring agencies' GIS data sources and Esri ArcGIS services. Aegis 11.2 also complies with standards including NENA’s NG 911 addressing standards.

New World said its use of Esri's industry-standard tools provides public safety GIS departments simple administration and eliminates the need for learning a proprietary tool or paying for additional GISdata conversion services.

New World senior vice president Craig Bickley said the the company’s development partnership with Esri had enabled New World to “raise the bar when it comes to embedded mapping in public safety software.”

New World's enhanced GIS integration was made through a development partnership with Esri. The company also takes part in Esri's private beta testing programs, the only public sector safety solution to do so, New World said.
