Connecting state and local government leaders
The program was one of 11 state government initiatives honored at NASCIO’s annual conference in Salt Lake City.
SALT LAKE CITY — The National Association of State Chief Information Officers honored 11 state government initiatives for its 2015 State IT Recognition Awards on Tuesday evening at its annual conference, including a cybersecurity program in the state of Colorado recently featured by Route Fifty.
"It has been a great privilege to co-chair the NASCIO Awards Committee," Oklahoma Chief Information Officer Bo Reese and Delaware Chief Information Officer James Collins said in a joint statement. "The volume of quality submissions demonstrates the integral role information technology plays in delivering government services. Citizens are the ultimate beneficiaries of the impressive innovations occurring across the country."
Secure Colorado, an initiative launched in 2012, is, as Route Fifty wrote, the Centennial State’s “first-ever cyber defense strategic improvement plan and prioritizes protecting information commensurate to its criticality to agencies, researching security solutions to outpace emerging threats, forming partnerships with the public sector and academia to share intelligence, and continually assessing legal compliance.”
