A partnership between Autonomic Resources and Akamai Technologies will give agencies more control and security through"end-to-end FedRAMP cloud offerings.

Autonomic Resources, a government-only cloud service provider, announced it has joined forces with Akamai Technologies, a fellow FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board (JAB) provisionally authorized provider, to provide control and security for cloud-based agency data and systems with their "end-to-end" FedRAMP cloud offerings.

By combining Autonomic and Akamai's FedRAMP authorized solutions, the companies aim to bring cost effective, secure and innovative cloud platforms, along with higher performance and Web security, to government agencies, the companies said in their announcement.

The partnership wants to give agencies visibility from the data center to the user point of access using metrics for application performance, availability to Internet end points and other key real-time metrics.  It also expands Autonomic's FedRAMP JAB authorized cloud offerings for all federal, state and local government customers using the Autonomic Resources Cloud Platform.

Akamai services, such as application performance optimization, DDoS mitigation, Web application security and management via the Akamai portal, can be used in conjunction with Autonomic's cloud services while maintaining FedRAMP compliance.

"We're excited to see the increased use of FedRAMP authorizations, not only from federal agencies but now between cloud service providers to enhance the overall suite of services the federal government can use," said Matt Goodrich, FedRAMP program manager at the General Services Administration. "Collaboration like this goes to the heart of the "do-once, use-many time framework" of FedRAMP, helping to create a robust marketplace for secure cloud computing services for the U.S. government."
