One of America’s biggest retailers, Costco<\/a>, decided to increase the prices of certain products. Most of these products are very popular products among loyal consumers. Now the question is, how will this impact the loyal consumers? Many of the fan-favourite products are part of the items whose prices were increased. This might hurt the retailer as loyal consumers may not be as loyal as before. Consumers are encouraged to look at the list containing the names of items whose prices were increased. This is to ensure they take note if their fan favourite might be included.<\/p>\n

As the prices of products increase, consumers have to brace themselves for an expected increase in several favourite items. One popular fan-favourite’s price increased by $1. This is the famous flakey bakery favourite that consumers enjoy purchasing. Many shoppers voiced their concerns and opinions about the price increases of items on the platform Reddit. They jumped on this thread to share what is happening to the prices of products at Costco stores – a way of informing other consumers as well and sharing in each other’s struggle to pay increase prices for their favourite products.<\/p>\n

Additionally, one of the consumers indicated that the price of croissants increased by $1. Costco did not say anything yet. No official statement was issued by the retailer and there is also not a clear indication of which products’ prices are being increased.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, a picture was upload showing a consumer with the croissant<\/a> on Reddit and it stated that the price increased to $6.99. The normal that consumers were used to paying for their favourite croissant was $5.99. Thus, indicating a raise of $1. In the comment section many shoppers shared their views and concerns. They went into discussion of their discomfort of the price increase. Several other consumers commented on the post and also mentioned some of the products affected in the Costco stores near them.<\/p>\n

Also, one of the consumers stated that the price of coffee increased with $1 as well. Another consumer mentioned that several items they usually use and purchase at Costco stores, all went up in the same week. As can be imagined this clearly had an effected on the household and their budgeting process, because they were unprepared for this sudden price hike.<\/p>\n

Another consumer indicated that they are preparing themselves for the price of multiple products to increase. This same consumer stated that things are getting worse for items like coffee, avocado, and cashew. The reason for this is, according to this consumer, because these items grow in places where it’s warm and unfortunately it is getting too warm in these places.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, one of the consumers stated that one of the reasons why this increase may have started, can be due to tariff increases. They further alluded to the fact that when tariffs raise many of the prices of products increase as well, to serve as a response to that. Another consumer agreed with this notion and added that even if the prices of tariffs are repealed, the prices of the products will not go down again. This is because consumers already got use to paying these increase prices.<\/p>\n

The main question now remains, will the consumers stay loyal to Costco stores and their favourite products? If they do not remain loyal, it will have a major impact on the retailer. Hopefully, many believe the $1 increase is not as much as saying no to your favourite item and still purchase it despite the increase of the products. Especially if its products that consumers use of a daily and for the household.
