Department store chain Kohl’s is struggling with a growingly dwindling rate of success. Retailers across the industry are trying their best to fight the growing epidemic of store closures<\/a> — but to no avail it seems. The retail industry can only maintain itself if there are customers regularly showing up to stores to make purchases. Unfortunately, tough economies and constantly rising costs of living are making it increasingly difficult for consumers to shop.<\/p>\n

Downsizing on physical presence has become the latest trend — or rather the latest measure taken by companies to keep themselves afloat during these uncertain times. Many retailers are restructuring their business models and shifting to a primarily online presence in order to keep up with the e-commerce boom and save their companies from filing for bankruptcy.<\/p>\n

Amongst these struggling retailers is Kohl’s who is submitting to a last ditch attempt at minimizing losses by closing down a shocking twenty-seven stores which are reported to be underperforming. Additionally, the company will be cutting back its workforce at headquarters by 10%.<\/p>\n

Goodbye Kohl’s – here’s a list of branches slated to close<\/h2>\n

Despite various attempts at restructuring the business, from store layout changes, to the shuffling and reshuffling of its corporate workforce, Kohl’s will have to downsize its number of locations and come April, there will be 27 less department stores across the country.<\/p>\n

Here is a list of stores closing by location:<\/p>\n

Alabama<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • 21000 Town Center Ave., Spanish Fort<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Thirteen other Kohl’s branches will remain in the state.<\/p>\n

    Arkansas<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • 13909 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      This state will still have a total of seven Kohl’s, three of which are located near Little Rock.<\/p>\n

      California<\/h4>\n
        \n
      • 5505 Balboa Ave., Balboa (San Diego)<\/li>\n
      • 134 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas<\/li>\n
      • 43782 Christy St., Fremont<\/li>\n
      • 350 Showers Drive, Mountain View<\/li>\n
      • 1116 1st St., Napa<\/li>\n
      • 4525 Rosewood Drive, Pleasanton<\/li>\n
      • 1896 Arden Way, Point West (Sacramento)<\/li>\n
      • 5010 Northgate Drive, San Rafael<\/li>\n
      • 205 Madonna Road, San Luis Obispo<\/li>\n
      • 8739 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Westchester<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        California is losing ten stores, the most out of all the states. This is not such a cause for concern for shoppers, however, since the state has a high concentration of Kohl’s branches and shoppers can simply shop at another one of the 106 remaining branches.<\/p>\n

        Colorado<\/h4>\n
          \n
        • 6584 S. Parker Road, Arapahoe Crossing (Aurora)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          A total of 22 branches will continue operating in the state, with two branches still situated in Aurora.<\/p>\n

          Georgia<\/h4>\n
            \n
          • 2050 W. Liddell Road, Duluth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Thirty-two locations will still be open for business in the North of the state.<\/p>\n

            Idaho<\/h4>\n
              \n
            • 400 N. Milwaukee St., Boise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              The state will still be home to five other branches after this closure.<\/p>\n

              Illinois<\/h4>\n
                \n
              • 11860 S. Route 59, Plainfield<\/li>\n
              • 3000 Spring Hill Ring Road, Spring Hill (West Dundee)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Illinois will still have department stores aplenty as 64 other branches will remain open.<\/p>\n

                Massachusetts<\/h4>\n
                  \n
                • 501 Technology Center Drive, Stoughton<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  After April, the state will still have twenty-three available locations for shoppers to enjoy.<\/p>\n

                  New Jersey<\/h4>\n
                    \n
                  • 72 Princeton Hightstown Road, East Windsor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    This state is only downsizing by one store and will still have 37 other branches.<\/p>\n

                    Ohio<\/h4>\n
                      \n
                    • 4150 Hunt Road, Blue Ash<\/li>\n
                    • 100 Cincinnati Mills Drive, Forest Park (Cincinnati)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      Shoppers can still fulfill their needs at 58 other branches that will remain operational.<\/p>\n

                      Oregon<\/h4>\n
                        \n
                      • 10010 N.E. Halsey St., Portland Gateway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        There will be ten other locations for Oregon shoppers to enjoy once the Portland location closes down.<\/p>\n

                        Pennsylvania<\/h4>\n
                          \n
                        • 351 W Schuylkill Road, Pottstown<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          This state will still have its fair share of fifty remaining locations for shoppers to go to.<\/p>\n

                          Texas<\/h4>\n
                            \n
                          • 18224 Preston Road, North Dallas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                            The city of Dallas will have one remaining location, whilst the rest of the state will still have an abundance of 88 other locations.<\/p>\n

                            Utah<\/h4>\n
                              \n
                            • 13319 S. 3600 W. Ste 13LOT, Riverton<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                              There will still be 11 remaining locations after the Riverton branch closes. However, several other locations near the Riverton one is set to close in the future.<\/p>\n

                              Virginia<\/h4>\n
                                \n
                              • 2100 Centreville Road, Herndon<\/li>\n
                              • 100 Gristmill Plaza., Williamsburg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                Thirty other locations will remain in the state.<\/p>\n
