One of the fan favourite retailers in America, Costco, announced its popular hot-dog combo<\/a>. Over the past few months, many products have been discontinued and unfortunately one of Costco most popular has been part of it. This was the hot turkey sandwich – however, it is now expected to return, and consumers are in their feelings about this amazing news.<\/p>\n

Costco’s food court changes\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The retailer is not afraid to make changes to its food court products. This is seen by the change from Pepsi to Coke products, and the most recent change made some fans clamouring with excitement and anticipation. Although the retailer discontinued various products, consumers can expect to see the return of the food court’s favourite.<\/p>\n

As could be expected, Costco made many changes during the COVID-19 pandemic, just like many other stores and businesses did. One of the most notable changes was made to the menu that offered only the basics, like hot dogs and pizza. In 2023, the retailer offered a cold turkey and Swiss sandwich that left many consumers hoping that the original turkey sandwich would make its triumphant return.<\/p>\n

During this time many retailers made changes and had to make bid decisions that was in the best interest of the company at that time. However, it seems like the retailer is ready to take big steps and satisfy the needs and requests of its consumers. Many loyal consumers have been waiting for this news the retailer is currently making public and is extremely excited about it.<\/p>\n

Responses of Costco’s consumers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Recently, a post about the discontinued hot turkey and provolone sandwich was shared on Reddit by one of Costco’s consumers who is situated in Eugene, Oregon. As stated on the poster, the sandwich is currently on sale at their local Costco in Oregon. Many people received this news with enthusiasm and one person commented, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!\u00a0<\/em>This implies that the news shared on Reddit is true and other consumers can expect it in their local Costco stores soon.<\/p>\n

In addition, another announcement was shared on Facebook similar to the one on Reddit. It even indicated that 09 or 10 March 2025, is expected to be the possible dates the sandwich will hit the food court. However, this is at least true for stores located in the South Jordan, Utah. While this is amazing news for many fans of the popular sandwich, Costco has not officially made a comment on the matter.<\/p>\n

Also, there is no indication, at least yet, that the sandwich will be made available in warehouse food courts nationally. Thus, although consumers are expectant and exited to have the fan favourite product back, many of them should not get their hopes up. Consumers are encouraged to wait for the chain to make an announcement about which stores will have this fan favourite product ready for its loyal consumers.<\/p>\n

What consumers can expect<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It is essential for consumers to note that both versions appear to contain the same ingredients – the previous hot turkey and provolone sandwich in comparison to the most recent iteration. As stated by the Reddit post, that contained information on the food signage, the new sandwich includes the following ingredients:<\/p>\n

  • Provolone cheese<\/li>\n
  • Red onion<\/li>\n
  • Tomatoes<\/li>\n
  • Basil garlic mayonnaise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Additionally, one small caveat is the price; while the hot turkey and provolone sandwich cost $3.99 pre-pandemic, consumers can expect to pay $6.99 for it now. However, that does not seem to be a major issue for loyal Costco consumers and hot turkey and provolone sandwich fans.
