Citizens can expect major changes to occur in the United States’ Infrastructure. There are several projects currently in work to bring changes in the United States where road work is one of the key elements.<\/p>\n
There is one new project that was announced by the Connecticut DOT, and it is aiming to make a notorious trouble spot a little safer for citizens. Some of the users complained and made comments about this specific spot – it is therefore essential to look into it. According to Hieu Nguyen from Massachusetts, \u201cIt was very weird because it was a short on-pass going onto the highway.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n This is especially important for those who are maybe visiting from outside the states. You do not really expect to see a stop sign merging onto a big Connecticut highway. Nguyen indicated that it was like a weird intersection which looks and could be very dangerous.\u00a0Additionally, Nguyen further added that he emerged unscathed, but the merge was quite unexpected.<\/p>\n Many citizens take note of the sign’s unexpected presence, and that is the main reason why DOT has announced they are in the beginning stages of phasing out one in Hamden. According to Hamden\u2019s mayor, Lauren Garrett, it is definitely unsafe to stop before one plan on getting onto the highway.<\/p>\n As mentioned above, there are plans in place to address this very dangerous spots and to make it safer for drivers. The mayor, Garret, is in favour of the change that is about to occur in her town. As stated by the CT DOT press release, the plan is that the project removes the stop signs for the merge and replace it with extended merge lanes. This is to ensure all drivers have sufficient time to get up to speed, and merge like a typical highway – this change was encouraged by hundreds of accidents in recent years.<\/p>\n Currently, over 500 projects are being worked on in the United States regarding the country’s infrastructure. Road work in the US continues to ramp up throughout the state, with about 500 capital projects in several stages of development. The spokesperson of DOT, Josh Morgan, stated that the state is in early stages of looking at ways to make several improvements to infrastructure, for example:<\/p>\n Morgan added that the states have more than 500 active capital projects which are currently operating in several different stages. Also, the active projects that can be seen by the public range from the years long $500 million 91\/15\/691 interchange in Meriden – this is what the drivers have become used to seeing, to some smaller projects such as bridge repairs.<\/p>\n In addition, in total the state has $16 billion in projects that are being considered to be implemented, according to Morgan. He further stated that these projects are centred around three key goals:<\/p>\n While the state is busy with projects to ensure the safety of its citizens by making the Connecticut roads better, the DOT emphasised that it is on the drivers to ensure workers can complete the current active projects safely.
