Two of America’s retailers, Walmart<\/a><\/strong> and Kohl’s<\/strong><\/a>, are expecting something big to occur. This something big is a threat that has been growing severely over the past few months. Due to this, a forecasting of an unsettling future is being predicted for the retailers. In retail, there is always a different threat at hand that will impact the efficiency and productivity of the company, but somehow retailers always get back on their feet. These days, this new threat is making it difficult for companies to stand strong and continue to be operative like in the past.<\/p>\n

The story behind the challenges for retailers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Five years ago, with the COVID-19 pandemic, many organisations struggled severely. Retailers who depend on foot traffic found it difficult to remain operational and many companies were forced to close down. This was because consumers were not allowed to go for shopping and some stores rarely opened during those times. Many stores never recovered because they depend on in-person sales and as a result the companies were not really profitable.<\/p>\n

Now there is a new threat that has businesses searching for a sense of fresh air due to the burden that is placed on companies. As many of you might have read before, over the past few months the news has been circulating severely that tariffs are increasing. Not just that, but that the Trump administration is against the import of products because it is expensive.<\/p>\n

As a result of this, many American companies, especially retailers are struggling. Many retailers depended on certain products from countries like China, now they cannot depend on this anymore because of the decision that was made by the President.<\/p>\n

The big threat for Walmart and Kohl’s<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This is now the recent challenges that many American retailers are facing. One of the biggest challenges that these retailers are currently facing is the dreaded tariffs that is continuously being implemented by the Trump administration. It is important to note that tariffs, or the taxes companies pay on imported goods, are often used to protect domestic or local produced businesses and products. This is especially the case because outside goods become more expensive. However, it has become burdensome in some cases.<\/p>\n

The following tariffs were proposed by President Donal Trump, that should be placed on imported good to the United States:<\/p>\n
