Costco Wholesale is steadily working its way towards becoming one of, if not the, top retailer in the industry. Despite its unique business model through which customers need a membership card in order to even enter a warehouse, the retailer has amassed well over one hundred million members globally.<\/p>\n

The retailer owes its popularity largely to its core principle of always prioritizing the lowest price possible. If the warehouse giant is unhappy with the price of a product when sourcing it, they simply will not sell it to their customers. A significant portion of revenue earned by the retailer each year can be attributed to membership fees which allows them to price their products at such competitively low prices– and because of these dangerously low prices, Costco<\/a> loyalists will likely agree that the annual membership fee is nothing compared to the savings that shopping at the warehouse allows.<\/p>\n

Believe it or not, there is one ancillary business run by the wholesale giant that is even more sought after than its warehouse and all the goodies housed within it. Costco Gas Stations are perhaps the most popular of the offerings run by the retailer and shoppers are often queueing up to fuel their vehicles with the Costco Kirkland Signature fuel that is said to be cheaper than that of other local competitors.<\/p>\n

More good news for Costco fuel stations<\/h2>\n

As if the lower price point on fuel was not a big enough perk for membership holders, the warehouse giant recently announced that it will be extending the operating hours for all of its gas stations across the country and customers could not be more excited. At all hours of the day, you can spots members lined at up the gas station. Now, with the longer hours, customers will be able to fill up their tanks at leisure.<\/p>\n

The change was first confirmed by Costco CEO Ron Vachris<\/strong> during a call with investors.<\/p>\n

“Generally, our stations are now staying open an hour later than they did previously, with some opening earlier as well,” Vachris confirmed to investors during the call.<\/p>\n

As such, the new hours for the gas station will be from “6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.”<\/p>\n

How are members reacting to this change?<\/h2>\n

The announcement was initially made by means of a post on social media platform, Instagram, and customers were quick to express their joy and excitement at this change.<\/p>\n

“Yes!!” one fan commented.<\/p>\n

“Adulthood is being excited about the new hours at the costco gas station,” another person mused.<\/p>\n

“Huge!” one person added.<\/p>\n

“One of the best decisions ever,” another person added.<\/p>\n

“Excellent,” another person wrote.<\/p>\n

The company also confirmed that this change was made due to an increased demand for it. With many companies switching back to in-person work models, more people are having to commute and as such, they will need to fill up either before or after work. These new hours allow for an extra bit of flexibility in this regard.<\/p>\n

“We did see some demand from the commuters, both at the early hours and the evening hours, so I think that that’s going to be a real benefit to those folks as well,” Vachris added. “But we will continue to look at the warehouse hours. No plans in place at this time.”<\/p>\n

Whilst there are no confirmed plans to extend the operating hours of the warehouse, if demand for it does increase, it is likely that the company would consider it since they do seem to be proving time and time again that they listen to their customers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
