Over the past few months, several recalls have been occurring that are impacting the retail industry. This item is such a threat that the company is telling the public not to return the product if they purchased it. Also, the product falls under one of the retailer&#8217;s popular brands, Kirkland. It has been found that the reason for the recall is that it can spontaneously shatter.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Details about the recall<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"mt-2 text-[1.625rem] font-bold leading-tight md:text-[2rem]\">The retail giant, Costco, made a recall about a product that is so dangerous that the company advises affected consumers not to return the Item to the store. No one likes to hear about a product that has been recalled, especially since there have been so many recalls already. Also, what makes it worst is that there is a risk of injury involved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mt-2 text-[1.625rem] font-bold leading-tight md:text-[2rem]\">Unfortunately, Costco has issued a notice like this for one of its <a href=\"https:\/\/gcn.com\/us\/costco-just-issue-warning-popular-product\/\">sparkling wines.<\/a> Therefore, all the consumers who bought this item is being advised to dispose of it immediately. Consumer are encouraged not to return the product to a store. This product that has been recalled is the Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene, which is an in-house private label product known for its low price point.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The affected Costco product<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Costco communicated to its consumers by sending out a <a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.bfldr.com\/U447IH35\/as\/3q6998t8pfg5hhjpkcpgvbc\/FinalKSProseccoValdoMemberLetter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" data-ylk=\"slk:notice;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-rapid_p=\"23\" data-v9y=\"1\">notice<\/a> regarding the prosecco. In this notice the company warned that there was a severe risk of certain bottles shattering, even before they are opened. Thus, any consumer who purchased a bottle of the prosecco between April 25, 2025, and August 26, 2025, is being urged not to pop any unopened bottles. The location where this item was distributed are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Iowa,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Illinois,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Indiana,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Kentucky,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Minnesota,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Michigan,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Missouri,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">North Dakota,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Nebraska,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ohio,<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">South Dakota, or<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Wisconsin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Instead, these bottles need to be safely discarded, and the impacted consumers will be entitled to receive a full refund. Costco is known to have some of the best cheap &#8216;champagne&#8217; options out there, so there&#8217;s a good chance that a lot of people have picked up this prosecco. Consumers should check the item&#8217;s ID, which is 1879870, if you are unsure and if they want to confirm if they product is affected.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Consumers should do the following if they are impacted by this recall:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When it comes to the disposing of the prosecco, Costco recommends that the bottle should be carefully wrapped in paper towels. Also, it is important that the bottle is placed in a plastic bag in case the glass shatters. Then, the bag should be placed in the trash, after which they should go to Costco with the notice letter they received to claim your refund. If there are any issues, the letter says to contact consumers are welcome to contact Ethica Wines, which is an importer the company works with to produce Kirkland brand wine.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The public&#8217;s opinion<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It has been stated that to ask consumers to dump a recalled product, instead of returning it, is an unusual move for retailers. <a href=\"https:\/\/gcn.com\/us\/fda-just-issued-costco-walmart\/\">Costco<\/a> recently made an announcement about a major chocolate recall. This recalled asked people to bring back the impacted treats. Even some of the retailer&#8217;s biggest recalls of all time involved returning the items to stores.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">However, when it comes to this recall, it just shows the severity of the issue. Some consumers who had purchased bottles of the prosecco went on social media, specifically Reddit, to express their concerns. One of Costco&#8217;s consumers said that they had just opened a bottle before learning of the recall and was glad it did not explode.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Another consumer said,<em> &#8220;We had two corks that started popping out as soon as we let some pressure off the cage.
