Talking about pay is often deemed to be a bit taboo and should rather be avoided and no one really knows why. Despite that, popular retail chain Walmart<\/a> has announced pay increases that will be quite pleasing to some of its employees. The actual state of the big box retailer remains up in the air when on one hand, they are enacting store closures due to underperformance. On the other hand, they are facing rightful backlash from shareholders regarding the decision to cut out DEI policies.<\/p>\n

Is a big retail corporation finally valuing its employees?<\/h2>\n

Just last week, news of pay increases for Walmart employees spread. There is a category of managers across branches who now have the potential to earn over half a million dollars per year. Eligible employees fall under the “upper” management category and are known as market managers.<\/p>\n

Each market manager has the responsibility of overseeing approximately a dozen stores. Across the United States, there are about 440 market managers.<\/p>\n
