Apple’s keynote was delivered on September 9, 2025, at Apple Park in Cupertino, where Tim Cook and team introduced a wave of innovation across its flagship product lines, with each upgrade bringing notable upgrades to design, performance, and user experience. The event unveiled the iPhone 17 series, Apple Watch Series 11, and the highly anticipated AirPods Pro 3.
iPhone 17 Series: A refined evolution
Apple introduced four new models with the iPhone 17 lineup:
- iPhone 17
- iPhone 17 Air
- iPhone 17 Pro
- iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The 17’s base model retains the familiar design, but it now features a pill-shaped camera bump (similar to Google’s Pixel) and a 24MP front-facing camera, which doubles the resolution from last year’s 16.
The iPhone 17 Air, which will be replacing the Plus model, stole the spotlight with its ultra-thin 5.5mm chassis and a 6.6-inch high-resolution display. Despite the Air’s slim profile, Apple managed to include a 2,800mAh high-density silicon battery, which offers users up to 20% more capacity than traditional lithium-ion cells. The device is also equipped with 12GB of RAM, a single wide-angle rear camera, and a repositioned front camera for a sleeker Dynamic Island layout.
The Pro and Pro Max models received the most notable upgrades. Apple moved away from a titanium chassis to an aluminum chassis, which reduces weight while still maintaining durability. The camera enhancements include a 48MP telephoto lens with 8x optical zoom and a 24MP selfie camera. The devices are powered by the A19 Pro chip and a six-core GPU; the new models promise top-tier performance. The device also has a vapor chamber cooling system, which ensures thermal efficiency, especially during intensive tasks.
Color options across the 17’s lineup include black, silver, purple, green, and a new Liquid Glass-inspired orange, which ties into the aesthetic of iOS 26, which was launched alongside the devices.
Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3: Smarter and more resilient
The Apple Watch Series 11 improves its predecessor with a brighter, more energy-efficient display, an improved battery life, and the new S11 chip for faster performance. The design remains mostly unchanged, but Apple hinted at future health features like blood pressure monitoring; however, this wasn’t included in the current release.
The rugged Apple Watch Ultra 3 received notable upgrades with a larger 422×514-pixel display and extended battery life of up to four days in low-power mode. The most exciting addition is the new satellite connectivity feature, which enables emergency messaging and location sharing in remote areas without needing cellular service.
Apple also teased refreshed upgrades to the Apple Watch SE, marking this its first update since 2022.
AirPods Pro 3: Smarter sound and health integration
The AirPods Pro 3 made its debut with a redesigned form factor and a slew of new features, powered by the new H3 chip. Another standout is the new heart-rate monitoring feature. Borrowed from the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, this feature pushes AirPods further into the health tech space.
The new AirPods charging case now also includes a touch-sensitive surface and a capacitive button for easier control and pairing, simplifying the user experience without compromising on style or functionality. Apple also introduced a new touch-sensitive charging case, which will allow users to control playback and activate features directly from the case. The AirPods Pro 3 will still have a $250 price tag, but Apple hinted at potential dual-tier models in the future.
With yet another successful Apple event done and dusted, Apple is continuing to show meticulous upgrades to its core products. The iPhone 17 balances performance and design, and the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 bring health and connectivity features. The AirPods Pro 3 redefine what wireless earbuds can do, all while working with iOS 26, tying the ecosystem together.
