Anthropic, the artificial intelligence safety firm that offers the product โ€˜Claudeโ€™, is making significant moves across Europe that signal massive shifts in the artificial intelligence ecosystem. The firm has recently rolled out plans to set up new offices in Paris and Munich. The San Francisco-based firm has rolled out an unexpected expansion across Europe, with Paris and Munich set to receive new offices due to the companyโ€™s massive growth within the continent, with EMEA becoming its fastest-growing market segment across the globe.

Anthropic’s European workforce triples amid explosive regional growth

The company has managed to triple its workforce in the entire EMEA region within the last year, which is impressive. This is due to the rise in the adoption of the Claude AI models within the European market. The Paris and Munich offices that the company has opened will be added to the London, Dublin, and Zurich offices to form the European network.

The EMEA has also turned out to be the fastest-growing area for Anthropic, with more than nine times the increase in run-rate revenue over the past year, according to statements made by the company. The number of large accounts in the EMEA with more than $100,000 in run-rate revenue has also shown more than 10 times growth over the past year.

Strategic leadership appointments drive regional expansion efforts

Anthropic has appointed regional experts to manage various European markets and customers. Guillaume Princen is appointed as the โ€˜Head of EMEA Startups, Mid Market & Digital Native Businessesโ€™. Pip White leads the โ€˜EMEA Northโ€™ operations that include the UK, Ireland, Benelux, the Nordics, and Israel from London with deep expertise in enterprise technology.

Large European companies use Claude for critical tasks

Leading European firms such as L’Orรฉal, BMW Group, SAP, and Sanofi use Claude’s capabilities for tasks that need accuracy and reliability. Technology firms such as Lovable, N26, Pigment, Qonto, and Doctolib use the capabilities of Claude to write computer programs, optimize software applications, and troubleshoot network problems. The applications covered above show that Claude has proven to be useful in a wide range of industries.

Data from the Economic Index by Anthropic shows that industries that had already established themselves on the continent are already being transformed by AI technologyโ€”the German manufacturing sector, the French tourism industry, and the Swedish web development sector, among them. Germany and France are among the first 20 countries in terms of the use of the Claude model per capita.

Local collaborations improve learning and cultural participation

To build further in the European market, Anthropic is teaming up with learning and culture entities. The firm is already working with Light Art Space to host exhibitions in Berlin, organizing TUM.ai hackathons with the Technical University of Munich, and has agreements with Uneate in France to engage with developers and provide AI education in 2026.

โ€œEurope boasts some of the most significant and innovative firms globally,โ€ said Chris Ciauri, Managing Director of International of Anthropic.

The expansion puts Anthropic in an opportune position to compete more effectively within the industry among other AI firms that are opening operations within Europe to adhere to rules and ethics that are set within the continent. The company has offices in 12 cities across the globe; these include San Francisco, Seattle, New York, and Washington, D.C.

This European expansion is seen within the wider context of the globalization of AI as firms understand the need to be present within regions in terms of regulatory requirements and accessing talent. Anthropic’s move to invest strategically in Paris and Munich sets the firm up to take advantage of the increasing adoption rate that is increasing within the European continent.
