Elon Musk has a proclivity for the outrageous. Since he came to the public’s attention, Musk has made some outlandish claims about several of his lofty ambitions regarding his projects. Now, he has once again come out to make another radical claim. Musk has several companies that serve his ambitions in a vast array of sectors. We might have believed some of his claims if it were not for the disastrous effect of Musk’s venture into the American political scene this year. His new claims are around a proposed undersea project that requires incomprehensible feats of engineering.
Elon Musk loves to stir up controversy with his claims and statements
When Tesla burst onto the scene like a viral video, the world was enamored by the self-proclaimed “real-life Tony Stark,” that is Elon Musk. His companies have uplifted humanity and produced some truly noteworthy achievements in the process. Tesla pioneered the mass-produced electric vehicle, while SpaceX revolutionized the space exploration industry.
Musk currently has over 7,000 satellites in orbit and has made the unbelievable claim that the human race, with his help of course, will reach Mars by the year 2030. A statement that has garnered a lot of criticism. He has continuously made those types of outlandish statements regarding his projects. Even as the head of DOGE, he made crazy claims of cutting the United States’ deficit, which he never managed to do at even a percentage of what he originally claimed.
Musk’s time in the US Government did not go as planned
As a result of his disastrous time at the helm of the Department of Government Efficiency, Musk experienced massive public backlash that led to several Tesla dealerships being set on fire all around the world. The latest situation for Musk has been dealing with the fallout of a very public ‘breakup’ with Donald Trump. So as he has done before, Musk is attempting to change the narrative.
Elon Musk wants to create even more incredible engineering projects
Love him or hate him, Elon Musk has propelled the human race into places never thought possible before. And with all great pioneers, he has the added benefit of being able to propose new projects that seem crazy to the rest of us, but somehow find their way to realization. The perfect example would be the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop, which transports people around in a vacuum-pressurized tube.
Musk wants to connect the United States and Europe with an undersea tunnel
The Channel Tunnel between England and France was an engineering masterpiece and showed the world that we are capable of incredible engineering feats. Norway has continued with that pioneering theme with its Rogfast project, which promises to be the worldโs longest, deepest undersea road tunnel. Not to be outdone by the Norwegians, Musk wants to build his own tunnel between the US and Europe.
He stated that his company, Boring Company, would be able to build a ‘Trans Atlantic tunnel’ that would connect America and Europe. That tunnel would be over 3,000 miles and reportedly costs around $20 trillion, yes trillion with a T. While Tesla stocks and public perception drop like flies, Musk is doing his best to stay in the headlines by proposing the new undersea tunnel.
Can Elon Musk actually turn this pipedream or “tunnel dream” into a reality
As Elon Musk’s relationship with the US President deteriorates, the enigmatic South African-born businessman is seeking out projects to keep him relevant and, more importantly, keep those stock prices high. The proposed undersea tunnel has an astronomical price tag attached, but Musk claims his Boring Company could make the project a reality for โ1000 times lessโ. Whether or not there is any truth to that statement is yet to be determined. What we do know is that we can never fully count Elon Musk out, and if he wanted to, he could actually make this project happen.
