Google announced on August 12, at its Made by Google event, that a new slate of connected apps is coming to Gemini to help users get more done. The expansion covers 13 third-party partners across four categories: Granola, Otter.ai, Wix, Fever, GetYourGuide, Localiza, OpenTable in the United Kingdom, Ticketmaster, iHeartRadio, Pandora, Angi, Thumbtack, and Zocdoc.
What connected apps actually do
Connected apps are Gemini’s version of account linking: a user switches a service on, hands Gemini access to their account there, and the assistant can then act on that service when asked.
The broader goal is to make Gemini more action-oriented, letting users plan and complete tasks from one conversation instead of constantly jumping between different apps.
By turning on favorite services in Gemini, users can plan, create, and tackle their to-do list all in one place , according to the official Google blog post. This approach mirrors the agentic direction that Microsoft Copilot is also pursuing as AI assistants push beyond question-and-answer into task execution.
The 13 new integrations, by category
In the productivity and creativity bucket, users will be able to summarize meetings and edit websites with Granola, Otter.ai, and Wix. In local and entertainment, Gemini will be able to book local experiences, rent a car, reserve dinner, and search for event tickets through Fever, GetYourGuide, Localiza, OpenTable in the UK, and Ticketmaster.
On the music side, iHeartRadio and Pandora cover station discovery and playlist streaming. In home, health, and lifestyle, Angi and Thumbtack handle finding a home professional, and Zocdoc enables doctor’s appointment booking.
Zocdoc describes itself as the Gemini app’s first health appointments connected apps partner. Users will be able to find and book appointments through Zocdoc’s network of providers from within a Gemini conversation.
Rollout timeline and availability caveats
Google says the new connected apps will roll out over the next few weeks. Google’s own post scopes OpenTable to the UK , and Localiza is a Brazilian car rental firm, so its usefulness is effectively regional.
Google gave no country-by-country availability detail beyond the OpenTable note, and no date more precise than “a few weeks.”
Gemini’s scale makes the expansion significant
Google says the Gemini app has crossed 1 billion monthly active users, calling it the fastest-growing product in the company’s history. 63% of users now talk directly to Gemini. One in five Gemini Live interactions go beyond voice, with users leveraging live camera and screen sharing. Gemini now generates more than 150 million images every day.
Each of the newly added services operates in a vertical where paid search has historically been the dominant acquisition channel, making the partnership slots commercially meaningful for companies like Ticketmaster, Zocdoc, and Angi.
If Google keeps adding popular services, Gemini could save users from jumping between multiple apps to get one thing done, a value proposition that puts it in direct competition with app-switching behavior that has defined smartphone use for more than a decade.
The expansion also signals how quickly AI assistants are absorbing functions that once required a separate app for every task.
