Tesla has also officially introduced the new Model Y Performance to Europe and the Middle East with a total overhaul, including performance-specific hardware, aggressive exterior design, including carbon fiber spoilers, and high-quality interior upgrades. This much-hyped recharge is set to offer fantastic performance, without compromising on Tesla and its legendary innovation and design expertise.
Great gains in performance in all metrics
According to Not a Tesla App, Tesla has officially released the new Model Y Performance in Europe and the Middle East. This performance-oriented reworking includes performance-dedicated hardware and a more aggressive exterior design and interior refinements relative to the standard Model Y. The 0-60 mph is reduced to 3.3 seconds, which is better than the last-generation 3.5 seconds.ย But the maximum speed is still electronically set at 155mph.
The greatest engineering feat is the ability to range even after improving its performance. The Performance version has an estimated range of 300 miles EPA (580km WLTP) with new 2020, high-density battery cells. This is a reduction of just 1% compared with the Long Range variant and virtually removes the traditional range cost associated with the high-performance model.
The new high-density battery pack is more efficient and compatible with higher performance potential. Tesla engineers have masterfully managed the relationship between power production and energy consumption to provide speed and practicality. The breakthrough solves one of the biggest issues that performance EV buyers traditionally had.
Violent outer design using carbon fiber materials
According to Top Electric SUV, the updated Model Y Performance has updated front and rear bumpers with black detail elements, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and optimal aerodynamics. The car is on Arachnid 21-inch 2.0 wheels with staggered Pirelli P Zero E tyres. It has red brake calipers and lowered suspension as compared to the other trims.
A new diffuser, carbon spoiler, and entire-width light bar add to the sporty appearance at the back. The Tesla script and Performance badge are also visually differentiated by being spaced out. The car is lower with 6.1 inches of ground clearance compared to the standard Model Y 6.6 inches. The staggered tire and wheel system will deliver better grip and steering accuracy to achieve better driving dynamics.
Improved aerodynamics result in performance and efficiency
The entire aerodynamic package comprises the optimization of airflow by means of new front and rear facsimiles. These enhancements also lead to performance capabilities and energy efficiency. Carbon fiber components help in offering functional advantages and also in improving the aggressive look of the vehicle.
The top-most interior finishes and technology
The new Model Y Performance has sport seats with power recline, power heating, power ventilation, and power-adjustable thigh extenders. There is also carbon fiber trim on the dashboard and doors, and a new ultra-high-definition 16-inch center screen in place of the usual 15.4-inch display. Adaptive damping is added to the Performance trim, and it constantly changes based on the road conditions.
Tesla also included special selectable drive modes, allowing drivers the choice between highway or track use. The car has nine airbags, and one of the airbags is the far-side airbag of the driver. The rear occupants will receive heated power-reclining seats and an 8-inch media, climate, and game screen. The improved driver assist options are backed by eight exterior cameras, one of which is a new front-facing camera. It is finished with a 15-speaker audio system with a subwoofer.
Days or weeks to come are supposed to launch in North America and the Asia-Pacific. The updated Model Y Performance has added tremendous value to Tesla with excellent battery innovation, aggressive design, and the use of carbon fiber components and high-end interiors. Its 3.3-second acceleration, range, and full upgrades make this model a really special performance electric SUV in the competitive luxury market.
