THE 2012 GCN AWARDS : CALL FOR NOMINATIONS IS OPEN!

We are looking for nominations of exceptional federal, state and local government IT projects and their management teams to be honored for their ingenuity, organizational skill and contribution to the public.

The annual GCN Awards do not recognize individual accomplishment.

Instead we honor the skills, leadership and team chemistry of those who come together to produce systems, applications and solutions of unusual value and impact to the public.

The GCN Awards represents an opportunity for agencies and the IT industry to recognize the work and commitment of these teams, including the contribution of specialists and utility staffers who often make the difference between a project that meets just most of its marks and those with outstanding originality, value and productivity.

PLEASE USE THE FORM BELOW TO SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATION TODAY.

In submitting your nomination, please follow these basic guidelines.

Please be as specific as possible in naming or identifying the project nominated as well as the core team members responsible for its success. Please limit the number of individuals to 10.

The judges will be looking for projects that rose above the norm in several areas, including:

-- The scale of the challenge taken on by the team.

--The originality of the solution; whether it breaks new ground in the use of a technology or application;

--The impact of the project or solution on the public purse;

--The impact of the project on the speed at which services are delivered to the public, end users or agency customers;

--The extent to which the project is replicable or could serve as a model for other office, agencies or departments;

--The productivity of the team given its size and how long it took to provide deliverables;

Please submit the name of project as well as core team members responsible for its success.

C. IMPACT

  • Briefly describe the significance of the accomplishment to the agency, its employees, its constituents or the public. What specific benefits, cost-savings, improvements in service resulted from the project? How does it position the agency to be more agile, more cost effective in the future?
 

D. REFERENCES
