Analog Devices (ADI) has just announced the release of CodeFusion Studio 2.0, its new platform designed to accelerate and simplify the development of systems with integrated AI. Several improvements have been planned for the new version, reducing the complexity of these projects and making them more accessible to users. With this new release, ADI aims to unify hardware and software to make the system more fluid, allowing for faster creation and testing of AI models.

What did Analog Devices do to take the platform from concept to application?

The CodeFusion Studio 2.0 project was created to meet the demand for new AI tools, making it more agile and aiding in its development. The platform allows developers to import, optimize, and run their own models, all on a wide range of ADI processors. One of these processors is a low-power edge device, and the other is a high-performance digital processor.

This project was created based on Microsoft Visual Studio Code. Therefore, the environment offers similar features, such as model compatibility checking, performance analysis, and other automated tools focused on optimizing and reducing the time between planning and launching a product.

Another highlight of the project is that ADI incorporated a new system based on Zephyr. It offers a detailed analysis of the system’s AI workloads, as well as machine learning. This means the system will be able to adjust its behavior in real time, optimizing resource usage and overall performance.

The fewer the barriers, the greater the system integration

Rob Oshana, Senior Vice President of Software and Digital Platforms at ADI, stated that the goal of the new CodeFusion Studio 2.0 system is to reduce friction in embedded AI development. According to the entrepreneur, less friction is needed for the era of embedded intelligence to happen. This new version of the system aims to unify fragmented workflows, offering a fluid user experience.

Another distinguishing feature of the system is the introduction of a redesigned System Planner. This means that it will now support multicore applications, with expanded compatibility for different devices. The new unified configuration tools will reduce complexity, in addition to integrating advanced debugging with Core Dump Analysis and support, making the testing process more intuitive.

To prepare for the future of physical intelligence, it’s necessary to go one step beyond automation.

CodeFusion Studio 2.0 represents the expansion of the concept of “physical intelligence” for the enterprise, that is, systems capable of perceiving, reasoning, and acting without depending on a cloud. According to Paul Golding, Vice President of Edge AI and Robotics at ADI, companies in this sector must develop AI solutions that are physically aware, as this has the potential to transform the entire industry.

Because of this level of support, the system will allow developers to experiment, optimize, and deploy AI models directly on ADI hardware, even if they don’t have physical access to a board. This type of change broadens accessibility and accelerates prototyping for this system.

What can we expect from the future of embedded AI?

The launch of CodeFusion Studio 2.0 shows that Analog Devices intends to lead the next generation of embedded intelligence. Beyond offering a new system, the company also aims to simplify the developer journey, and therefore, the features of this new system range from intelligent debugging to complete integration with the use of AI.

More than just an upgrade, CodeFusion Studio 2.0 promises to reduce time, costs, and technical barriers. It represents a shift in mindset for the brand and the technology market, towards a more agile and connected way of thinking. For those who work with intelligent systems, the arrival of embedded AI in a more accessible way is good news.
