The ITS World Congress in Atlanta has turned into a nest of a great revolution in the field of transportation, with the demonstration of such innovations as artificial intelligence-powered radar systems and virtual traffic engineering agents. The Edge-based AI detection, endorsed by NEMA by AGD Systems, through Miovision MATEO virtual assistant, among others, has the potential to transform how traffic is handled in the city in terms of safety and road optimization of transportation networks.

NEMA-approved AI detection Technology exhibited by GD Systems

Traffic Group was at the ITS World Congress, displaying their products in Atlanta, and AGD Systems and MAV Systems exhibited in the UK and ERTICO ITS-Europe Pavilion. At the Highways News, AGD Systems displayed its latest advances in smart detection and its NEMA-certified AGD650 that achieves a high degree of accuracy in detection and improves the efficiency of the traffic control with AI processing at the edge.

It is expected that the AGD650 will do well in the North American market because of its wide usability and advanced Artificial Intelligence features. In the case of highways and multilane enforcement applications, AGD introduces the AGD343 highways radar, which is the proven solution for effective monitoring and enforcement applications, which reflect the desire and commitment by AGD in providing comprehensive traffic management solutions.

Such is the next-level ANPR technology offered by MAV Systems

AiQ ANPR camera is another product that AV Systems will debut as a next-generation vehicle licence/ number plate recognition solution that is capable of reading plates in multiple countries. International in setup, AiQ features ghost plate detection to provide accuracy and reliability in even the most challenging of environments, backed by flexible data export and integration choices.

Miovision announces MATEO virtual traffic engineering agent

Miovision, a provider of intelligent traffic solutions, introduced a new intelligent traffic control solution that uses artificial intelligence to transform the process through which cities control traffic with MATEO (Miovision Automated Traffic Engineering Operator). MATEO is created to operate as a virtual colleague, which uses the wealth of experience of Miovision in traffic data and signal operation.

MATEO is a big step forward on the advanced intelligent traffic management level, stated Kurtis McBride, CEO and Co-founder of Miovision. The integration of AI, data insights, and expert knowledge of the road infrastructure domain can provide an agent that not only does the job of an engineer faster, but also enables cities operating within stringent budgets and act quickly in response to the continuously changing conditions on their roads.

AI revolutionizes the process of traffic engineering workflows this way

MATEO will assist traffic engineers to query and understand their operations with less effort and time spent, thus enabling them to devote more time to the roads in terms of making the roads safe and efficient. The trailblazing patent-pending virtual agent can be introduced to an already established Miovision system and is capable of processing a huge amount of traffic data, and it can provide insights into the data.

UK- builders show leadership in ITS around the world

UK Participants included 7 UK-based companies, AGD and MAV Systems, Immense, Intelligent Instruments, Navtech Radar, Nicander, Zenzic, which featured a UK pavilion, UK & ERTICO ITS-Europe. The West Midlands was equally well presented with the branding of Birmingham as the host of the 2027 ITS World Congress at the National Exhibition Centre, the first time this has been in the UK since 2006 in London.

The Atlanta ITS World Congress has shown how radar and traffic systems that are powered by AI are dramatically changing urban mobility management. Whether that is AGD Systems’ edge-based detection or Miovision MATEO virtual engineering assistant, these innovations are paving the way to a paradigm shift moving toward proactive and data-driven transportation solutions.
