Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) 2025 global trade show just ended in Berlin. The event promised launches in all things tech and AI, kicked off on September 5th ran up to September 9th. 2025. IFA is an event that allows tech giants alike to showcase their new futuristic gadgets and AI-powered solutions to the public.
Smarter homes meet ambient intelligence
The most notable themes at IFA 2025 is the improvements of smart homes. Experts have been referring this tech as โambient computing.โ ย The idea of ambient computing is simple but innovative. It fades into the background while anticipating your needs. Its features technology such as lights that turn on as you enter a room, doors that unlock as you approach them and even coffee that brews before you set foot in the kitchen.
SwitchBot, a company known for its unorthodox home automation devices, unveiled a new AI-powered hub or as they call it โ the โbrain of your smart homeโ. The hub comes with animated AI pets and a colorful E-Ink art frame, ย This has been designed to bring personality and intelligence into everyday living.

Ooni showcased the Volt 2 – artificial intelligence that is no longer confined to smartphones and voice assistants. Ooni has created a smart indoor pizza oven that is equipped with โPizza Intelligenceโโan adaptive heating system that ensures perfectly cooked pizza slices every time you use it and Dangbeiโs S7 Ultra Max projector promises cinema-grade visuals with an impressive 6,200 ISO lumens, thanks to liquid cooling and AI-powered brightness control.
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect was also well received at IFA. The FlexConnect is a device that allows you to place speakers anywhere in a room without compromising sound quality. TCL and Hisense are working with Dolby on this which means weโll be able to experience more flexible home theater setups in the near future.

IFA unveils the future of screens: laptops, tablets, and monitors reimagined
Acer came in strong with several laptop announcements. The Predator Helios 18P, a giant in the gaming laptop scene, features a RTX 5090 GPU and a Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and is also paired with a 4K display. The Swift Air 16 was also unveiled, a featherweight device which is lighter than a 13-inch MacBook Air, but packed with performance.
Lenovo also turned heads with its ThinkBook VertiFlex Conceptโa 14-inch laptop with a screen that can change from landscape to portrait mode, offering a whole new level of flexibility for creators and professionals alike.
Samsung unveiled the long-awaited Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The Android powered tablet rivals the iPad Pro with its thin design and performance. The Galaxy S25 smartphone series was also announced making this the fifth entry in the series and continues Samsungโs ambition for premium mobile experiences.
Acer showcased its stylish new monitors inspired by the acquisition of the Japanese design firm, Amadana. With its minimalist displays, it manages blend aesthetics with functionality, which will excite both creatives and professionals alike.
JBL expanded itโs speaker range with the PartyBox 720, their largest battery-operated speaker to date. The speaker was designed with portability and power in mind which makes it ideal for outdoor gatherings and on-the-go entertainment.
