An Urgent Walmart Recall Has Been Issued in 23 States — Radioactive Shrimp and 2 Other Items Are on the ‘Do Not Eat’ List

One of America’s top retailers, Walmart, has been affected by an urgent recall. This recall has been issued in a total of 23 states. Over the past few weeks, a lot of retailers have been affected by several recalls, and consumers are alert to remain vigilant. There are specific products that have been identified as possibly being radioactive, and these are shrimp sold by the retailer and two additional products. Consumers are urged not to eat these products and to get rid of them immediately.

Details about the recall

There have been many recalls over the past few months and weeks, and a lot of these recalls included products being sold at Walmart. As one of the largest retailers in America, it makes sense that most of the products that were affected by recalls were sold at the retail giant.  In August 2025, the federal officials issued several recalls that included warnings to consumers not to eat certain products. Again, these recalls impacted Walmart since most of the affected products were sold at stores across half of the country.

Currently, the recall is mainly focused on three items that are sold at Walmart. These impacted products include salads, ice cream and potentially radioactive shrimp. It is important to note that undeclared allergens and the possibility of radioactive contamination could lead to distinct but serious public-health concerns. In addition, allergens such as sesame, soy, almond, walnut and pecan can trigger anaphylaxis in susceptible people. Also, if exposure to low levels of cesium-137 is repeated, it can increase the risk of cancer.

Affected products sold by Walmart

One of Walmart’s spokespersons made a statement that highlighted the fact that the company place the health and safety of consumers as a top priority. He further alluded to the fact that the retailer issued a sales restriction and removed these affected products from their impacted stores. The spokesperson concluded by saying that the retailer is working with the supplier to investigate the situation.

In addition, three products were affected by this recall and were sold at various Walmart stores. These three products include the Taylor Farms Honey Balsamic Salad Kit, the Blue Bell’s Moo-Ilennium Crunch Ice Cream, and Radioactive Shrimp. These products were sold across 23 states, and information can be found below:

Taylor Farms Honey Balsamic Salad Kit

Taylor Fresh Foods made an announcement on August 26. This announcement included a voluntary recall of Taylor Farms Honey Balsamic Salad Kit 6/8.3oz because some of the kits contained Asian Sesame Ginger dressing instead of the intended Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette. Therefore, it introduced undeclared sesame and soy allergens.

In addition, the retailer said the affected packages contained code dates beginning with “TFRS” and “Best If Used By” dates through September 4, 2025, and had been distributed to the following locations: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia.

Blue Bell’s Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream

On August 22, Blue Bell Creameries voluntarily issued a recall alert on a limited number of Moo-llennium Crunch half-gallon cartons. These items were mistakenly packaged in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cartons. It has also been communicated by a spokesperson, that no illnesses have been reported and no additional incorrect packaging has been discovered.

In addition, the company stated that the mistake gave access to undeclared almond, walnut and pecan and that affected cartons bore code 061027524 on the lid. The company also stated that the affected distribution covered several locations such as Alabama, Arkansas, the Florida panhandle, northwest Georgia, southern Illinois, southern Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and southwest Virginia. Consumers were instructed to return the product for a full refund.

Radioactive Shrimp Warning

On August 19, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advised the public not to eat, sell or serve certain frozen shrimp that were imported from PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati after authorities detected cesium-137 in shipping containers linked to products from the Indonesian company.

In addition, the FDA indicated that multiple distributors and retailers such as Walmart should remove or recall the product lots. They also stated that affected distributions included states such as Alabama, Georgia, Ohio and Texas.  An import alert has been placed on the Indonesian firm by the FDA.
