We all need toilet paper, which is a basic necessity that consumers cannot live without. However, because of its necessity and sensitivity, consumers’ quality of toilet paper must be up to standard. One of America’s retailers, Costco recently received many backlashes from some consumers due to the Kirkland Signature toilet paper. Many consumers have been loyal to this brand and therefore they recommended against purchasing it.
Costco: A trusted retailer
Costco has always been one of the most trusted retailers where consumers buy their most needed items. Consumers always had access to buy all kinds of products like, cleaning items, clothing, food, and many other varieties. Even though the retailer remains a trusted store for many, one specific product has been severely criticised by Costco’s consumers. This product is the toilet paper of the Kirkland brand, which consumers do not recommend buying.
Reasons for not buying Kirkland toilet paper
As mentioned, consumers are extremely cautious when it comes to buying certain products and toilet paper is one of those products. Because of its crucial role in a household people tend to lean toward better-quality toilet paper and not necessarily the cheaper one.
There are several reasons why consumers believe that it is no longer worth it to buy Kirkland branded toilet paper. They are specifically stating that the bath tissue is no longer worth buying and gave several reasons why it lacks worth. Some of these issues includes:
- It breaks easily,
- It causes plumbing problems,
- It generates too much lint or dust, and
- It is incredibly thin.
Several consumers are voicing their respective complains, due to the poor resistance of the sheets of this product and also the durability of it. They mentioned that the paper leaves particles in the bathroom and the body. Therefore, some consumers indicated that the product recently became too harsh to use.
Additionally, other consumers claimed that the Costco-branded Kirkland toilet paper is now too thin to use, and it disintegrates when coming into contact with water. Some consumers also referred blame unto the brand for drain blockages. They stated that there are blockages in the septic system – this after the toilet paper is sold as being septic safe in the retailer’s catalogue.
Alternatives for Kirkland toilet paper
As we all know, Costco always have its consumers covered. Therefore, if you are one of the unhappy Kirkland branded product users, you are more than welcome to try out alternatives. These alternatives are easily available at the retail store – since Costco remains the go-to store for many.
Currently, there are another popular brand that consumers buy at Costco. This brand is called Chatmin, it is a two-ply Charmin Ultra Soft paper and has the same 30 rolls just like Kirkland. This brand’s product cost $33.99, which is $5.99 more than the Kirkland Signature Bath Tissue, that are sold for 27.99.
Additionally, there is another option that consumers can buy at Costco. This is the Kirkland Signature Ultra Soft; it is also a two-ply toilet paper. This product is available at a cheaper price, only for $24.99, and it has six extra rolls than the normal one, at Costco
It is therefore important that consumers consider alternatives if they still want to remain a member of Costco and want to continue buying toilet paper at the retailer. Since, the retailer has always received good reviews, and many consumers remain loyal – it is just fair to try other options as well. We know that toilet paper should be a very sensitive and safe item and if some consumers are unhappy about it, it is also just fair if they choose to stop buying it.
