Government Announces a Nationwide Recall at Costco and Sam’s Club – What Shoppers Must Do If They Bought This Product

Marshalls Just Confirmed the Permanent Closure of Two Major California Stores, Including Hollywood Blvd

Christmas is coming to Costco — 5 top-festive items in the “What’s New?” aisle

A nationwide alert is in place after it was found that products sold by one of America’s top retailers, Walmart, may pose serious—and in some cases fatal—risks to consumers. Shoppers across the United States should be aware of the affected items and familiarize themselves with the specific hazards. Multiple recalls have been announced in recent weeks; this is another group of recalled products that requires immediate attention from households that may own them. The alert affects stores and online sales across the country.

Why This Alert Matters

This recall wave affects a wide range of common household products that families use every day. The purpose of these recalls, including the most recent notices, is to protect the safety and health of consumers. It is crucial to pay attention and follow the guidance provided in recall alerts, because doing so can prevent severe injuries.

The latest recall information follows the same goal: protect people from harm. Some of the products carry a risk of death if the hazards are not addressed. The objective of the alert is to protect United States consumers from hazards that may be present in everyday products. These hazards include furniture tip‑overs, access to dangerous button‑cell batteries that can be swallowed, and electrical issues that may cause smoke, overheating, or fires. Any of these scenarios can lead to serious incidents and even death.

Recalled Products Sold at Walmart

Consumers should look out for several products sold at Walmart stores and on Walmart.com. The items include Aiho dressers, Minecraft Light‑Up Slap Ruler Bracelets, and Frigidaire mini fridges. If you own any of the following products, stop using them and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for refunds or safe disposal.

Aiho Dressers

There is an active recall affecting five‑drawer Aiho dressers sold on Walmart.com. About 1,900 units are included. The product fails to meet safety standards under the STURDY Act. Some units are unstable and can tip over, creating an entrapment hazard that is especially dangerous for children. A tip‑over can cause severe injuries or even death.

Consumers are strongly encouraged to stop using these dressers, particularly if they are not anchored to a wall. Keep the item out of children’s reach. At this time, there are no injury reports related to this recall. Owners can contact Aiho for instructions and to receive a refund for the item.

Minecraft Light‑Up Slap Ruler Bracelets

A recall has also been issued for Innovative Designs’ Minecraft Light‑Up Slap Ruler Bracelets. Approximately 75,900 units were sold at Walmart stores in the United States. The reason for the recall is that the battery compartment can be accessed by children. This violates safety standards and creates a risk of ingesting button‑cell batteries, which can cause internal burns or death.

Consumers should stop using these items immediately and keep them away from children. Contact Innovative Designs for a refund as soon as possible and follow any disposal instructions provided by the company.

Frigidaire Mini Fridges

Approximately 634,000 units distributed by Curtis International are included in a recall that covers certain Frigidaire‑brand mini fridges sold at Walmart. There have been 26 reports of the mini fridges smoking, overheating, or igniting. These hazards have caused more than $700,000 in property damage. Two smoke‑inhalation injuries have also been reported.

Owners should stop using the affected mini fridges as soon as possible. Unplug the appliance and follow the manufacturer’s directions for refunds or safe disposal of the unit. Do not continue operating any unit that appears in the recall, even if it seems to be working normally.

Walmart and Sam’s Club: Commitment to Safety

Walmart and Sam’s Club have stated that they are committed to the health and safety of customers and members. The retailers emphasize that they will do what is necessary to protect shoppers and ensure products meet required standards. When a recall is announced, the companies say they work swiftly to block the item from being sold and remove it from stores and clubs. Their policies highlight support from health and wellness, product safety, and food safety professionals, and they take steps to ensure that recalled items are promptly blocked and removed.

What Consumers Should Do Right Now

If your household owns any of the products mentioned above, act immediately.

  • Stop using the product and keep it out of children’s reach.
  • For furniture such as the recalled dressers, stop using the unit—especially if it is not anchored to a wall—and keep it away from children.
  • Unplug any mini fridge that appears in the recall and do not plug it back in.
  • Contact the manufacturer or brand listed in the recall for exact disposal and refund instructions.
  • Keep any proof of purchase, photos of the product, or disposal documentation that may be required to process a refund.
  • Share this information with family members and caregivers so everyone in the home understands the risk.

Multiple recalls have occurred over the past few weeks, and this notice adds another set of products to that list. The goal is the same across all of them: protect consumers from preventable harm. By reviewing the details for Aiho dressers, Minecraft Light‑Up Slap Ruler Bracelets, and Frigidaire mini fridges—and by following the recommended steps—households can reduce the risk of injury, property damage, and potential loss of life.
