As the snow melts and brighter, warmer spring afternoons quickly approach, gone are the days of sipping hot cocoa. The only way a drink should be described as during these hotter, flower filled days is refreshing and Sprite, the beloved soft drink brand has just the treat for you.
The Coca-Cola company will be releasing a fresh new flavor for Sprite come this spring. The only catch, however, is that this fruity new thirst quencher will only be sold at Walmart stores.
Sprite broadens its flavor palate for spring
To celebrate spring, the Coca-Cola company will be adding a refreshing new flavor to its Chill line of Sprite sodas. The new flavor is Strawberry Kiwi and it is a perfectly refreshing representation of warmer days. Walmart shoppers in particular should be very excited for this new launch as the Sprite Chill Strawberry Kiwi flavor will be sold exclusively by the retailer.
The new tasty treat was launched just two days ago on March 17 and is being sold in both 12 ounce cans and 20 ounce bottles. The big box retailer is marketing this new drink as “a lemon-lime burst of crispness paired with a unique blend of citrusy and strawberry flavors.”
When the new flavor was initially announced, fans of the lemon-lime soft drink were ecstatic and took to social media platform, Instagram to share their excitement. Some fans wrote, “can’t wait for this!!!”
Another user made a humorous post claiming, “strawberry kiwi supremacy.”
Whilst reporting on this berry tasty Sprite Chill launch, one user with the handle @snackolator wrote, “I love that strawberry kiwi flavor so I’m definitely looking forward to trying the combo with Sprite Chill!” Some comments under @snackolator’s post read, “Ready for it!! Loved Sprite Chill, because it didn’t go flat as quickly as regular Sprite. Excited to see it soon.”
Another wrote that, “sprite is the only soda i’ll get excited over new flavors sprite is the best.”
Sprite Chill
Sprite Chill was first launched by Sprite in April of 2024 with a cool cherry lime flavor. What sets Sprite Chill apart from the regular iteration of the soft drink is that it is designed to produce a cooling effect to the drinker. According to Coca-Cola, a technology similar to what is used in baking and confectionary is used in the production of Sprite Chill. This technique is what allows the drink to have a “refreshing and cooling sensation from the first sip to the last.”
Simply put, the sensation Sprite Chill offers can be likened to that of eating a peppermint candy. According to AllRecipes, “it leaves your taste buds feeling a little tingly, and definitely hits all the right notes for a refreshing aftertaste.”
The Coca-Cola company is known for releasing exciting and unique flavors on a regular basis, however, for the most part, these releases tend to be limited edition launches and are short-lived regardless of how popular they turn out to be.
For example, flavors like Coca-Cola Orange Cream or Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla were immediate crowd favorites, but unfortunately, the latter had been discontinued. Fortunately, there is even more good news for Sprite lovers because the company has confirmed that its new Sprite Chill and Sprite Chill Cherry Lime flavors are here to stay permanently. Since these flavors are here to stay, there is a possibility that Sprite fans will not have to say goodbye to the newest Strawberry Kiwi launch any time soon.
Other new soda releases for fans to enjoy this year
In addition to Sprite Chill Strawberry Kiwi, soda sippers can look forward another launch from Coca-Cola’s known competitor, Pepsi.
On January 20, Pepsi launched Pepsi Wild Cherry & Cream and the new drink will be available in both the regular and zero-sugar varieties.
The new beverage was described as having an “initial burst of sweet Pepsi cherry flavor…followed by a smooth, creamy vanilla swirl,” in a press release.
