Christmas is coming to Costco — 5 top-festive items in the “What’s New?” aisle

One of America’s largest retailers, Walmart, announced another big move and change the company is about to take. Those individuals who have been loyal consumers of this fan-favourite retailer should know that the company has made various major moves these past few months. However, the current change is one of the biggest the retailer has taken since 2008. This may just leave many consumers shocked and at a loss for words.

Walmart’s biggest change since 2008

We all know this this retail supermarket chain is one of the most famous retailers nationally. It is operating in more than thousands of locations across the United States. Consumers often choose the company because of the quality of the products they find on its shelves and the affordable prices, but there are several other reasons why this store remains a fan-favourite.

In addition, this popular retailer, Walmart, made an essential announcement regarding the change in its brand identification.  This significant change will have a big impact on all its consumers. It is crucial to note that this change may be the result of the massive closures of Walmart branches, that occurred in certain areas of the United States.

The retailer’s new look

The change might be a little subtle, but the company decided to go with a modern identity for the company that is associated with the “minimalist” tastes and include details that became extremely relevant in recent months. However, on the X platform of Elon Musk, consumers observed the fact that the retailer is keeping the famous yellow spark. The only difference would be that it will come with a slightly opaquer shade of yellow. Also, the girls will have a rounder tip and are more united in the centre.

It was stated that Walmart will implement the changes slowly but surely. It is also believed that the yellow spark will no longer be attached to the word “Walmart” as it is generally found in stores. This was communicated by the news portal Semana Colombia,

Moreover, during this year, 2025, the retailer’s logo is not the only thing that will be modified in the numerous stores. It was also stated by the retailer’s authorities that over the next five years, the retailer will also work towards the increasing and improvement of technology. This will specifically be in stores, because we all know the benefits that comes with using technology and how it can improve the experience of the consumer.

Walmart: The reasons for rebranding

At the end of last year, 2024, an announcement was made by the brand’s authorities. This communication included information on the massive closure of Walmart branches as part of the changes at the business level. Also, the details of the new logo – with the aim to start a new age of the supermarket, were known.

In addition, this large, fan favourite retailer ended 2024 by lowering the shutters of various stores. This was mainly due to “poor economic performance.” Therefore, the changes in the logo could also serve as a response to the modernisation, that the retailer is planning to implement during this year.
