Two industry leaders have joined forces to address the rapidly growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure across Europe’s expanding digital landscape. The strategic collaboration promises to accelerate deployment timelines while maintaining consistent quality standards across multiple facility locations. This partnership represents a significant shift toward standardized, factory-built solutions that can support next-generation computing workloads.
Collaboration and strategy lead to faster deployment of AI infrastructure
Vertiv and GreenScale have revealed a full partnership aimed at delivering factory-integrated data centre solutions custom-designed for next-generation AI workloads in Europe. After a competitive pre-qualification process, Vertiv has been chosen by GreenScale as their partner of choice for standardized, prefabricated OneCore Hybrid Built Data Centres. “The joint partnership allocates specific project responsibilities,” said Vertiv, “with GreenScale handling slab down build work, overall infrastructure, while Vertiv delivers AI-ready modules.”
“The partnership capitalizes on Vertivโs expertise in factory-assembled systems that bring power, thermal, and IT infrastructure into a single, tested unit. This reduces on-site construction and deployment timeframes compared to traditional systems builds,” it added. The standardized platform solution provides a consistent solution for multiple sites and allows facilities to be compatible with โnext-generationโ AI hardware when it enters the production cycle.
Higher density computing is facilitated through advanced cooling solutions
Vertiv OneCore, on the other hand, is accompanied by advanced cooling technologies to handle the ever-increasing power density of up to 200kW and beyond in the case of GPUs. This solution uses Cooled Distribution Units with dual-loop liquid cooling, thus providing business continuity in case of mission-critical workloads, primarily in the area of AI.
In-Built Liquid Cooling Solutions allow for direct cooling of the NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GB200/GB300 Graphics Processing Unit, as well as the next generation of the Vera Rubin Graphics Processing Unit, which usually generates high heat during the execution of complex computations. The Vertiv SmartRun overhead prefabricated infrastructure solution integrates with the OneCore platform since it combines the distribution of power with the secondary fluid distribution of the liquid-cooled thermal solutions. This approach enables the controlled distribution of the coolant within the data hall.
The prefabricated infrastructure enables the pre-assembled modules to arrive at the site pre-assembled and pre-tested. The factory integration method reduces uncertainties inherent with traditional on-site building techniques to allow for quick deployments without compromising on quality standards. Indeed, the demand for AI-ready data centres continues to grow at an ever-increasing rate across the European market.
Aggressive expansion plans in the gigawatt range are underway
GreenScaleโs partnership with Vertiv solves the problem of scalability in the data center market, thereby catering to the firmโs rapid expansion plans across the European market, which include the development of around 120 MW of capacity in Northern Ireland and more than 300 MW in the regions comprising the Nordics. This partnership will enable the firm to achieve its future vision to develop nearly a gigawatt of data center capacity in the European market.
โEvery aspect of our partnership with Vertiv lines up with the GreenScale mission of rapidly delivering highly efficient and AI-ready infrastructure throughout the EU,โ said Dan Thomas, CEO of GreenScale.
The companyโs plan involves closely aligning with technology companies that can deliver scalable infrastructure solutions within tight build schedules. Through the application of standard platform models, GreenScale expects to minimize variations in its designs while allowing compatibility with the revised requirements in AI hardware. The move makes it possible for the company to meet the marketplace demand with efficiency.
Vertiv’s GreenScale partnership marks an important step forward for the development of AI infrastructure in the European market, allowing the two firms’ successful manufacturing knowledge to be leveraged by their far-reaching growth strategy. The GreenScale partnership’s clear commitment to developing standardized, factory-integrated solutions also helps to meet the fundamental market need for scalable, consistent deployment of infrastructure across multiple locations.
