Lucid Motors has unveiled the Gravity GT-S, a new top-of-range variant of its three-row electric SUV. With 1,070 horsepower, Lucid says the Gravity GT-S is America’s most powerful three-row SUV, sprinting from 0, 60 mph in 3.1 seconds.

Debut and pricing

The Lucid Gravity GT-S made its global debut during Monterey Car Week, displayed alongside the Lucid Air Sapphire in the Concours Village at Pebble Beach. Orders are now being taken for the Gravity GT-S. The vehicle is sold exclusively in the United States.

It starts at $125,900 before options, with a mandatory $1,850 destination and delivery charge bringing the opening price to $127,750 before tax, title, and license. No confirmed delivery date has been announced by Lucid.

The new variant, inspired by the Air Sapphire sedan, is positioned as the most powerful version of the Gravity. Until now, Gravity shoppers had to choose between a 560-horsepower Touring model capable of a 0, 60 mph sprint of 4.0 seconds, or the 828-horsepower Grand Touring rated at 3.4 seconds.

The GT-S price represents a significant step up from the $81,750 starting price for the standard 2027 Gravity Touring including destination.

Performance hardware and interior

The Dynamic Handling Package is standard on the GT-S, enhancing agility, stability, and ride comfort with independent rear-wheel steering and an adaptive three-chamber air suspension that lowers the vehicle at speed. The GT-S retains the core Gravity layout with seating for up to seven adults and a large cargo area.

The interior uses Lucid’s Mojave PurLuxe Premium trim, featuring blue stitching and piping across the first and second rows, blue seatbelts, and blue stitching on the steering wheel, door armrests, and front center armrest.

Additional interior details include a blue steering wheel marker and Lucid Bear logo embossing on the front seat headrests.

Lucid Chief Creative Officer Derek Jenkins said in the company’s announcement: “With Lucid Gravity GT-S, we’ve created a more expressive and exhilarating interpretation of the Gravity SUV,” adding that it combines extraordinary performance with the comfort, space, and versatility that define Gravity.

How it stacks up against rivals

The Kia EV9 GT-Line AWD, among the more powerful mainstream three-row electric SUVs, produces 379 horsepower. The Rivian R1S, often cited as a direct luxury SUV competitor, is available with a third-row seat option; in its top Quad trim, its four electric motors produce 1,025 horsepower, less than the Gravity GT-S’s 1,070 horsepower, though Lucid’s claim of the most powerful three-row SUV is narrower than it may appear.

The GT-S launch follows a turbulent financial period for the automaker. Lucid reported a net loss of more than $1 billion in the second quarter of 2026, roughly double the $539.4 million loss recorded in the same period a year earlier, alongside a $1.4 billion cash-flow improvement plan that includes a reduction of its US workforce.

That plan includes annualized savings from operational restructuring. As with rivals in the EV market, Lucid is placing its near-term bet on the premium end of the segment, where buyers have shown more resilience to higher transaction prices.

Market context

The GT-S is Lucid’s explicit bet that the upper end of the electric vehicle market will pay a premium for performance credibility, even as the company resets its cost structure from the inside out.

The launch arrives at a moment when the average new-vehicle transaction price has hit a 2026 high of $49,855 across the broader market, yet demand at the luxury and ultra-performance tier has held firm.

Lucid’s US-only positioning for the GT-S keeps its sales footprint narrow and intentional, targeting buyers for whom a $127,750 electric SUV competes directly with internal-combustion alternatives from established German and British luxury brands rather than mainstream EV makers.

The Lucid Gravity GT-S press release confirms orders are now open. Lucid has not publicly announced a specific delivery window for the GT-S.
