America’s top e-commerce retailer, Amazon, is making headlines due to an unannounced change the company is implementing. This massive change in rules is impacting the prime members of the store. This change is merely days away from being implemented, and consumer are encouraged to keep their eyes open.

Details about this massive change

A new change is on its way at Amazon, and it is taking effect on Wednesday. This change is specifically targeting the Prime membership holders of the e-commerce giant. These members receive many benefits when it comes to their groceries, Music with Prime, Prime Photos, Prime fuel savings, Grubhub+, and Rx savings. They can now expect to experience a change that might be difficult for some of them.

In early September 2025, the online retail giant made an announcement that it would be ending its Prime Invitee Program. This is a program designed to allow Prime users to share their free shipping benefits with people who do not share their home address. It is crucial that users familiarise themselves with the information provided.

The end of other Amazon Programs

The Amazon Family sharing program is still in place. According to the company’s customer service page, the Amazon Family program allows users to share Prime benefits. Benefits such as the two-day shipping and digital content can still be shared with one other adult and up to four teens. However, there is one condition.

This condition is that these additional people should have been added before April 7, 2025. Also, it is important to note that up to four children who are in the same household can receive access. Everyone that is part of Amazon Family is required to have the same home address listed in their individual profiles. Only then these people can receive benefits that comes with having access to the program.

The availability of prime deals

According to USA Today, the e-commerce giant stated that any customers who were impacted by the Prime Invitee Program’s cancellation will be offered a limited-time Prime deal. Also, until December 31, 2025, users will be able to get a 12-month Prime membership for only $14.99.

The company made a statement that it has reached out to everyone who has lost their benefits from the change. The retailer is dedicated to working on this issue to ensure that users are supported. They do not want to lose anyone or leave loyal users unhappy about any change.
