Marshalls Just Confirmed the Permanent Closure of Two Major California Stores, Including Hollywood Blvd

Christmas is coming to Costco — 5 top-festive items in the “What’s New?” aisle

Over the past few months, several retailers, including Target.com have been recalling products. Consumers should take note of the recall of these products because there are always important reasons for the recall. Now, a nationwide recall has been announced based on products sold by Target. Consumers should check their homes if they have these products.

Recalled products at Target.com

There are two products that are available for purchase at Target.com, and both have been recalled. The reason for this is that there were safety concerns when it came to these two products. Hence, Target’s online marketplace has been recalled after the products prompted the U.S. regulators to encourage consumers to stop buying them immediately. Consumers are encouraged to check their homes to see if they have the items that have been flagged as having the risk for severe injuries.

Over the past few months, many products have been recalled. This impacts both the retailer and consumers, because retailers receive these products from the manufacturers. Now, Target.com is the retailer who has been selling products that had the potential to harm consumers. However, consumers should remain vigilant when purchasing the products that has been announced to be damaged.

In addition, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued recalls on August 14, 2025, for the Drinkmate 1-liter carbonation bottles and Remington-brand hair dryers. This was due to the risk of severe injury consumers may experience, including electrocution and laceration hazards. Consumers should be aware of these items because it is available at other retailers as well.

What consumers should know

Both the aforementioned products were available on Target.com, along with other big online retailers such as Amazon and Walmart. Together, these recalled products accounted for more than 160,000 potentially hazardous units. In addition, Empower Brands recalled about 56,300 Remington-brand hair dryers, with the model number D3190DCDN. It has been stated that the reason for the recall was because these items lacked an immersion protection device.

For example, if the dryer would be dropped into water while plugged in, the consumers would risk serious injury or death by electrocution. However, it is important to note that no injuries have been reported thus far. Additionally, the purple and black handheld units were available for purchase only online at Target.com, Amazon.com, and Walmart Marketplace. The dates by which it was available was between March 2024 and June 2025 for $25 to $32.

Moreover, these recalls indicate a continuous gap there is when it comes to online marketplace safety. therefore Target.com should be vigilant about what it sells online. Third-party sellers may just distribute products that does not adhere to the general instore screening procedures. Therefore, the warnings from the CPSC emphasise that both products, whether it is the one electrical or the other pressurized could be dangerous. Both products pose threats of physical injury or even death if consumers may use it improperly or even if the design flaws go unaddressed.

The public’s opinion

Target made an announcement in the retailer’s recall webpage. On the page it stated that the retailer’s purpose is to help all families to discover the joy of their daily lives. The company highlighted its importance for caring about its consumers’ health and safety. Target.com holds its consumers as its highest priority and for this reason the retailer will maintain a list of recalled products.

Consumers who purchased these products online are encouraged to act immediately to avoid potential injury. The CPSC will continue to monitor similar categories of goods. The public should note that there might be additional recalls could follow if other defects are discovered. Consumers are encouraged to report unsafe products directly to the agency through SaferProducts.gov.
