Marshalls Just Confirmed the Permanent Closure of Two Major California Stores, Including Hollywood Blvd

Christmas is coming to Costco — 5 top-festive items in the “What’s New?” aisle

One of America’s big wholesalers, Target, has been forced to recall one of its popular products. Over the past few weeks several retailers like Walmart and Costco, were forced to recall some of their most-bought products. This popular product that is sold in Target stores was distributed to 21 other states in America. This specifically makes it a major factor in recalling the product at this point, because the retailer is classified as a favourite store amongst many consumers.

Impact on Target as a Favourite Retailer

Target is seen as one of America’s favourite retail stores, where consumers love doing their shopping. This is because consumers enjoy the wide variety of products the retailer offers – this includes a broad spectrum of prices and available items for all age groups. However, recently this well-known brand and fan-favourite store was forced to withdraw one of its popular products from its shelves. This was due to the risk of possible contamination with a foreign object.

Although this is currently occurring at the retailer, it is also important to note that the company is working on its food section to ensure safety, but also to implement measures prevent health risks of its consumers. The response was swift and coordinated as it was stated by Del Monte Foods’.  Additionally, the company has worked closely with America’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure that affected cans are removed from the retailer’s shelves and that consumers are given the necessary information to be able to identify the product.

Target recalls popular product

Del Monte Foods, one of America’s food processing companies, issued a major recall of 197,808 cans of Good & Gather cut green beans. This is due to a possible risk of contamination with a foreign object. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) communicated that the recall for this product began on 12 February 2025, and it is currently in process.

Additionally, national distribution has created a rapid response from the authorities and the company to limit and prevent any risk it may have on consumers. Even though the health risk has been classified as Class II – meaning that there is a low probability of severe health consequences for consumers. Therefore, it is recommended by authorities that should be taken to avoid any adverse effects.

In addition, the cans that are affected by this possible risk, are part of 8,242 boxes, each box containing 24 cans, that were distributed to Target stores in 21 states in the United States. Some of the states that are affected are:

  •  New York,
  • New Jersey,
  • California,
  • Texas,
  • Illinois,
  • Georgia and
  • Pennsylvania, among others.

Identification of the affected Green Beans

It is essential for consumers to be able to identify which products are affected. This will educate consumers on the fact that they should NOT eat this product and to get rid of it if they still have it at home. So, to be able to identify affected cans, consumers should verify that the Green Beans has a net weight of 14.5 oz (411 grams) and the expiration date of is set for 28 October 2026.

In addition, the cans of this product are marked with the postal code 0 85239-11628 9 and the lot number is 7AA 418507. These IMPORTANT details will allow consumers to easily recognise if they own one of the recalled cans. Although the recall was listed as Class II, the FDA and Del Monte Foods still recommend that consumers not to consume the product. The suggested options for consumers are to safely dispose of the GREEN BEAN cans or return it to the store where they purchased the product for a refund or replacement. The aim of this measure is to protect the health of consumers and avoid any possible incident.
