New items added to list of recalls at Walmart
Nestlé Lean Cuisine and STOUFFER’S Frozen Meals
Last Monday, on March 17, Nestlé USA issued a voluntary recall notice for a limited quantity of its Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s frozen meals after a foreign material was discovered to have contaminated a specific batch of the product.
A foreign “wood-like material” appears to have found its way into the product and as such the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for four types of frozen meals sold under the Lean Cuisine or Stouffer’s labels.
The four recalled frozen meals are the Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lean Cuisine Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry and Stouffer’s Party Size Chicken Lasagna. The contaminated meals were distributed to various major retailers from September 2024 to March 2025. According to Walmart’s website, the recalled meals were sold in all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia.
The manufacturer was alerted of the contamination after a consumer called in a complaint after finding the wood-like material in their meal. One choking incident has been linked to this recall as well.
Consumers should not hesitate to discard the recalled product or return to its place of purchase in exchange for a refund. Alternatively, they may contact Nestlé USA directly at (800) 681-1676.
