Audi is offering $20,000 in customer cash on remaining 2026 RS e-tron GT models this month, one of the largest single-model discounts currently advertised by a major automaker, as Volkswagen Group brands push aggressive incentives to clear electric vehicle inventory.

The offer, confirmed through dealer incentive listings and reported by Electrek, runs alongside similar discounting at sister brands Volkswagen and Porsche.

What the deal includes

Audi is offering $20,000 in customer cash on remaining 2026 models plus $1,100 in charging rebates, which appears on nearly all VW Group EVs.

Incentive tracker TrueCar lists the same offer as a National Customer Credit of up to $20,000 in customer cash, expiring November 2, 2026.

Volkswagen’s ID.4 is getting similar treatment. Volkswagen is offering $12,500 in customer cash plus an additional $1,100 in charging rebates on leftover 2025 VW ID.4 EVs.

Porsche, a brand known for resisting discounts, is also participating. Even Porsche, which rarely discounts, is letting Macan Electric buyers pay $3,600 below MSRP.

Why the discounts are showing up now

The timing lines up with a rough stretch for VW Group’s US EV business. Volkswagen Group is responding to labor disputes, increased competition in China, and slower sales with substantial incentives on its electric vehicle lineup, offering some of the largest discounts seen so far in 2026.

The pressure is not limited to Audi’s flagship. The Audi RS e-tron GT, launched in 2024, stands out with nearly 1,000 hp, yet sales have lagged, leading Audi to offer the discount on remaining models.

The broader EV market has also cooled industry wide this year as the sales slowdown has not spared legacy brands, with some posting double-digit percentage declines in quarterly EV volume.

Steep depreciation on used and off-lease electric models has added to the pressure facing manufacturers trying to move new inventory, a trend GCN detailed in its coverage of leased electric cars returning to dealer lots this year.

How it fits the wider pricing picture

The VW Group discounts arrive against a backdrop of rising sticker prices tied to tariffs elsewhere in the industry.

Separate analysis cited by Autoblog found that average price increases on 2026 model year vehicles have been far steeper than a year earlier, even as automakers continue absorbing a large share of tariff costs rather than passing them fully to buyers.

Secondary listing services are showing the scale of the Audi discount in real time.

Carsdirect lists the 2027 and 2026 Audi RS e-tron GT as available with up to $50,000 in lease cash and up to $50,000 in cash back when combined with other active offers, underscoring how far dealers are willing to move on price for the slow-selling flagship.
